Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Early Years/Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential.
- Proven leadership or management experience within a nursery or early years setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and safeguarding requirements.

About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and inspiring Early Years Deputy Manager to join our Outstanding Day Nursery.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated childcare professional who is ready to take the next step in their career or further develop their leadership skills. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in leading the team, maintaining exceptional standards of care and education, and ensuring every child has the best possible start in life.
You will help create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children thrive, families feel supported, and staff are empowered to deliver outstanding practice every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day leadership and smooth running of the nursery.
- Lead, motivate and inspire the nursery team to deliver exceptional childcare and learning experiences.
- Ensure full compliance with the EYFS framework, safeguarding procedures, health and safety legislation, and Ofsted requirements.
- Act as a role model, promoting outstanding teaching, learning and professional practice.
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and carers, providing regular communication and support.
- Monitor children's development and ensure high-quality observations, assessments and planning are completed.
- Assist with staff recruitment, inductions, training, supervision and ongoing professional development.
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive and welcoming nursery environment for children, families and colleagues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute towards maintaining our Outstanding standards.
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced early years professional who is passionate about providing exceptional childcare and inspiring others to do the same.
You will have:
- A Level 3 Early Years/Childcare qualification (or equivalent) as a minimum.
- Previous supervisory, room leader or management experience within a nursery or childcare setting.
- A thorough understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding and child development.
- Excellent leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues.
- A proactive, positive approach with a genuine commitment to achieving the highest standards of care and education.
