Are you passionate about game development and eager to shape the future of the industry? We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable HE Game Development Lecturer to join our Higher Education team. Based primarily at University Centre Doncaster, you will teach and support undergraduate students studying Game Development programmes validated by the University of Hull.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong industry knowledge and experience of modern game development technologies to help students develop the technical, creative and professional skills needed for successful careers in the gaming sector. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching, supporting student achievement, and contributing to the ongoing development of an innovative and industry-relevant curriculum.
Essential Criteria
- Degree in Game Development or a closely related subject.
- Experience working within a Higher Education environment.
- Strong subject expertise in game development and a commitment to enhancing programme quality.
- Experience of working with Unreal Engine 5.
- Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills, with a commitment to delivering an outstanding student experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across Higher Education Game Development programmes.
- Provide personal academic support and guidance to undergraduate students.
- Contribute to curriculum planning, development and enhancement activities.
- Participate in programme teams, quality assurance processes, examination boards and academic committees.
- Support student recruitment, induction, retention and progression activities.
- Develop and share scholarly and professional practice that enhances learning and teaching.
- Assist in programme evaluation, reporting and continuous improvement activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, university partners and industry stakeholders to strengthen Higher Education provision.
