About the Role
Metro Rod Cambridge is looking for an organised, confident and proactive Operations & Sales Coordinator to join our team.
This is a varied role where you'll be involved in different areas of the business, from looking after customers and coordinating engineers to preparing quotations and helping identify opportunities for growth.
You'll be part of a small, supportive office team where responsibilities are shared, so you won't be expected to do everything yourself. We're looking for someone who is happy to get involved, take ownership of their work and help wherever needed to keep things running smoothly.
No two days are quite the same. You might be dealing with a new customer enquiry, arranging an engineer visit, speaking with a commercial client, preparing a quotation or following up work we've already quoted.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing customer enquiries by telephone and email.
- Building good relationships with new and existing customers.
- Coordinating engineers and scheduling work efficiently.
- Preparing quotations and following them up with customers.
- Keeping customers updated throughout their jobs.
- Making sure engineers have the information and client requirements they need before attending site.
- Liaising with commercial clients, engineers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the office.
- Helping with customer communications, social media and marketing activity.
- Spotting opportunities for additional work and ways we can improve the customer experience.
About You
You don't need drainage industry experience. We're much more interested in finding someone with the right attitude and transferable skills.
You'll ideally have previous experience in customer service, administration, coordination, sales support or a similar office-based role.
We're looking for someone who:
- Is confident and friendly when speaking with customers.
- Is organised and able to manage several priorities at once.
- Takes ownership and doesn't need to be constantly prompted.
- Is comfortable following up quotations and speaking to customers about work.
- Has good attention to detail.
- Is comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
- Can work independently while also enjoying being part of a small team.
Experience within drainage, engineering, construction, facilities management or another service-based business would be useful, but isn't essential as full training will be provided.
