Main Purpose of the Job:
As Assistant General Manager, you will assist the General Manager in successfully running the day to day management of all aspects of the park. An integral part of the role is to deliver continuous improvement in all areas of the facility. Managing and delivering a high level of safety is paramount, along with maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and assisting in developing a well trained and motivated team.
Main Responsibilities:
· Adopt and maintain Gravity policies and procedures at all times, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation in relation to Health and Safety, PAS 5000 and industry standard guidelines, including all operational safety checks at site.
· Provide assistance to the General Manager to ensure the monthly and quarterly KPI’s, including wage ratio, site audit and accident ratings, ensuring financial targets and other agreed targets are met in all departments.
· Provide assistant to the General Manager with the weekly reports on all aspects of the business, including wage ratio and accident ratings.
· Complete daily, weekly and monthly in-house checks and audits.
· Provide assistance to the General Manager to deliver continuous improvement across all departments to improve the customer journey and employee engagement.
· Liaise with the Marketing department to ensure the site is promoting Gravity to local businesses, schools and community partners.
· Ensure that the site is maintained to a high level and is clean and safe at all times.
· Ensure the highest standards of customer service are adopted at all times across the site.
· Undertake ad hoc duties as and when required to meet the needs of the business.
Team Management:
· Along with the General Manager, you will recruit, train and develop staff. Conduct regular reviews and provide further training and guidance where required.
· Report Employee Relations issues to the General Manager in line with Company values and procedures.
· Line management responsibility for the Shift Managers, including conducting regular reviews and annual appraisals.
· Assist in delivering staff training throughout the year, ensuring all new staff are fully aware of Company policies and procedures.
· Staffing efficiencies. Constantly review and manage rota/hours.
· Provide leadership and help staff perform to their best, giving guidance, advice and being approachable.
· Lead by example.
Person Specification:
· A proven and successful track record in a fast paced, management role in leisure or similar
· A dynamic leader with the ability to motivate the team and drive culture to create results
· A customer focussed, approachable and tactful personality, with the ability to converse with a diverse range of people at all levels
· Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Proven ability to manage a budget, with an excellent track record of hitting and exceeding targets
· Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
· Flexible attitude to working patterns
Additional information:
Some travel is required to attend meetings and training events and some overnight stays away from home may be required.
