We are looking for a Commis Chef to join our team at The Railway in Ringwood, an independent family run pub and kitchen in Ringwood. We serve Texan BBQ, burgers, fried chicken and appetisers inspired by travels in America, using the best quality local produce including local grass fed beef, locally baked buns by bakehouse 24 and local cheeses.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cleaning and tidying the kitchen, and ensuring that all health and safety regulations are followed. The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking, an eye for detail, and excellent organisational skills.
We are looking for candidates keen to expand their skills, we believe on promoting from within the company, with unlimited career progression.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Assist in the preparation of meals and food items.
- Follow instructions from the head chef or sous chef.
- Ensure that all food items are stored properly and safely.
- Clean and sanitise all kitchen equipment and surfaces.
- Assist with other kitchen duties as needed.
Our Kitchen is open 3-9pm Mon to Tuesday , 12-9Weds to Saturday and 12- 7 Sundays. . We run on a fixed rota- with set days off. We close Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and all bank holiday Mondays.
Pay from £14 per hour based on experience - Plus Tronc, approx an additional £1 per hour
