What does the average day look like?
In an average day at Network Rail, you will update and maintain property and BST data across our core systems, ensuring records are accurate and in line with our standards. You'll review and validate data, investigate any discrepancies, and work with colleagues and stakeholders to put things right. Alongside this, you'll support data improvement projects, prepare reports, and provide technical advice where needed.
Your day will also include managing team resources such as shared mailboxes and SharePoint sites, keeping documentation and distribution lists up to date, and responding to queries from both internal teams and external suppliers. You'll help process utility invoices and business rates, resolve supplier issues, and make sure everything runs smoothly so that payments, reporting, and workflows are completed on time.
Every day brings a mix of data analysis, problem-solving, administration, and communication - and you'll play a key part in keeping our information accurate, our processes efficient, and our stakeholders supported
A little bit about the team...
Network Rail Business Support Team consisting of 7 people forming part of the Business Services Team within the Finance Department working closely with several internal stakeholders, including the Regions and Group Property to ensure Network Rail's property portfolio information is accurate and maintained. We're a team who are always busy, so collaborate and support each other fully to ensure delivery of key objectives.

Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Business Review Assistant to help us keep our property and BST data accurate, reliable, and up to date. You'll play an important role in maintaining systems, managing workflows, and supporting data assurance by identifying and resolving discrepancies, preparing reports, and working closely with stakeholders to improve processes.
The role also involves handling utility invoices, business rates, and supplier queries, as well as managing shared inboxes, documentation, and team platforms such as SharePoint. Strong organisation, clear communication, and a keen eye for detail are essential, along with the ability to build positive relationships and provide excellent customer service.

Essential Criteria
- Knowledge of managing data using relevant processes and systems
- Knowledge of assurance methods and reporting shortfalls to shape remedial plans for stakeholders
- Proven experience to multi-task
- Experience of SharePoint administration
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent time management Strong organisation skills
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) including excellent telephone manner
