Cook / Café Worker – Barista Experience Desirable

We are looking for a reliable, experienced Cook / Café Worker to join our team at Oak & Olive Deli.
The successful candidate will be confident working in a busy café environment and have experience preparing fresh food to a consistently high standard.
Barista experience is desirable, but the key requirement for this position is someone who is confident and capable in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking a range of fresh café and deli food
- Following recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards
- Preparing breakfast, brunch, paninis, salads, poke bowls, quiches, cakes and other café items
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation
- Ensuring food is prepared and served promptly during busy periods
- Stock rotation and monitoring food levels
- Working safely and efficiently in the kitchen
- Assisting with front-of-house duties when required
- Preparing hot and cold drinks, including coffee, where required
- Working as part of a small, friendly team
- Helping maintain the overall standards and reputation of Oak & Olive
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as a cook or in a café kitchen is essential
- Confident preparing and cooking food independently
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling
- High attention to detail and pride in presentation
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to remain calm and organised during busy periods
- Friendly and professional with customers and colleagues
- Barista experience is desirable
- Willingness to work as part of a team and take responsibility for maintaining high standards
- Weekend availability is essential
Hours & Pay
25–35 hours per week
£13.50–£15.00 per hour, depending on experience
Open 7 days a week, 9am–4pm
Weekend work is essential for this position.
