We are urgently looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Workshop Joinery Assistant to join our small team of furniture makers and craftspeople.
This role is a great opportunity to begin a career with a company that offers fantastic career development. Full training is provided but an interest in woodwork or furniture making would be advantageous.
Duties:
- Preparing timber components for production: sawing/sanding
- Assisting joiners with basic joinery & furniture preparation tasks
- Assembly of timber components and products
- General processing of materials and assisting within the workshop
- Final finishing, sanding and preparing items for dispatch
- Maintenance of equipment and workshop cleanliness
- Loading and unloading deliveries
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a production or workshop environment would be an advantage although not essential
- Experience using basic power tools such as drills and electric saws is an advantage
- Good attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable with manual handling of large furniture items and working in a fast-paced environment
