Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MOT Tester/Mechanic to join our dynamic automotive service team. Duties
- Conduct thorough MOT tests to assess vehicle safety, emissions, and roadworthiness according to legal requirements
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicle makes and models using hand tools and power tools
- Diagnose mechanical issues accurately and recommend appropriate solutions to customers or team leads
- Use heavy lifting equipment safely to handle vehicle parts and components during repairs or inspections
- Maintain detailed records of all inspections, repairs, and services performed in accordance with company policies
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment
- Assist in the ordering of parts and materials needed for repairs, ensuring timely completion of tasks
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot a wide range of vehicle issues
- Proficiency in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and socket sets
- Experience with power tools necessary for vehicle repair and maintenance tasks
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and efficiently during inspection or repair procedures
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate testing and quality workmanship
- Good communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to team members or customers
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high safety standards
