Job Overview
We are looking for a friendly, organised and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team at Barney & Bella Independent Vets.
This part-time role would suit someone with excellent customer service skills who enjoys working in a busy veterinary environment and takes pride in creating a warm, professional experience for both clients and their pets. Working between 15 hours per week, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our practice while being part of a supportive and caring team.
No two days are the same, so we are looking for someone calm under pressure, confident communicating with people, and passionate about delivering excellent care and service.
Previous experience in a veterinary reception role is essential.
Duties
· Greet clients and their pets warmly and professionally, providing a calm and reassuring presence.
· Answer phone calls and respond to emails promptly and courteously.
· Book, reschedule, and manage appointments using the practice management system.
· Process payments, issue invoices, and handle cash and card transactions.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date client and pet records.
· Communicate clearly with vets, nurses, and clients to relay important information.
· Manage and order office and reception supplies as required.
· Support the team with basic administrative tasks such as filing, printing, and stock ordering.
· Ensure the reception and waiting areas are clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times.
· Handle client concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism, escalating when necessary.
· Assist with prescription requests and ensure appropriate procedures are followed.
· Promote practice services, health plans, and retail products.
Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of your manager or the CEO.
