Overview
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Day Care Manager to cover maternity leave, ensuring the continued delivery of exceptional care and leadership within our vibrant childcare environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team, uphold high standards of safety and development, and foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff alike.
Duties
- provide safe, high quality education and care for early years children
- fulfil all legal and statutory requirements and ensure that these are followed within the setting
- lead and manage staff on a day-to-day basis
- contribute to and implement early years policies, ensuring these are adhered to and creating an environment of best practice
- be responsible for the curriculum planning and management of the provision, including staffing levels and recruitment
- ensure St Leonards is an environment that promotes open and equal opportunities for the children and adults
Qualifications
Essential:
- Level 3 or above in Early Years and Childcare
- Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate and support a close-knit staff team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing
- A flexible, professional approach to work
- A desire to develop your management skills throughout your career and a commitment to undertake training to ensure St Leonards remains at the forefront of new initiatives and complies with its statutory duties
- Certificate in Paediatric First Aid (training will be given if the successful candidate does not hold one)
- Certificate in Food Hygiene – Level 2 or above (training will be given if required)
- An up-to-date DBS certificate (will be applied for if the successful candidate does not hold one)
- A sincere and genuine love of working with children
Desirable:
- Experience of managing or assisting to manage an early years childcare setting
