Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated multi trader with strong plumbing, carpentry, floor laying and decorating skills to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for redecoration, cleaning, repairs to kitchens and bathrooms along with installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of flooring in commercial and residential settings. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in construction and carpentry, contributing to high-quality finishings that meet client specifications. The ideal applicant will have a strong attention to detail, good organisational skills, and experience working with a range of tools and schematics. PLEASE NOTE THAT OWN VAN AND TOOLS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR THIS ROLE. Weekly paid and all materials, uniform and congestion charges are supplied.
Duties
- Complete refurb of void property including kitchens and bathrooms
- Redecoration of property including minor plaster, emulsion and gloss works
- Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and repairing surfaces to ensure proper flooring installation.
- Measure and cut flooring materials accurately using hand tools and power tools.
- Install a variety of flooring types such as hardwood, laminate, vinyl, or carpet according to schematics and client requirements.
- Use construction painting techniques to ensure seamless finishes where necessary.
- Carry out all forms of maintenance in void properties including kitchen, bathroom repairs, redecoration and deep cleaning of all sites.
- Be able to manage own workload and read specification for works required.
- Follow technical drawings and schematics to ensure precise placement of flooring materials.
- Conduct inspections of completed work to verify quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, flooring installation, or carpentry is essential.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as chisels, hammers, saws, and levels.
- Experience operating power tools including drills, saws, and sanders.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of construction painting techniques is desirable but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to construction sites.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction or carpentry are advantageous but not mandatory.
