Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee our warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of logistics and warehouse management systems. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient handling of materials, maintaining safety standards, and optimising business processes within our facility.
Duties
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- To suitably store and maintain stock.
- Picking, packing, line feeding, dispatching and loading in to vehicles.
- To communicate with managers, as well as staff, to ensure efficiency.
- Use our Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory levels and manage stock movements effectively.
- Responsible for general warehouse standards whilst being mindful of Health & Safety, hazards and risks.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and maintenance schedules.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required, demonstrating hands-on leadership in the warehouse environment.
Requirements
- Warehouse experience and excellent organisational skills are necessary to aid in running a busy, demanding work environment.
- Excellent management skills with the ability to use your own initiative if problems occur.
- Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations or when under pressure.
- Have either a valid fork truck licence or previous experience in this area, refresher training can be given in house.
- Experience in IT is required and use of a warehouse management system is preferable, training of our computer system will be given in house.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods as required by the role.
This role is for permanent day shift, although occasionally you may need to be flexible.
Hours: Monday to Thursday are 7am-4pm and Friday 7am-1pm
There is usually some weekend availability for overtime.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £28,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
