Care Trainer – All‑Age Health & Social Care
Location: Head Office, Tamworth
Hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 per annum (DOE)
UK Phoenix Healthcare is a growing, digital‑first health and social care provider delivering all‑age services across supported living, complex care, home care and children’s services. We are looking for an experienced Care Trainer to join our Head Office team in Tamworth, leading high‑quality training that supports safe, person‑centred care for both adults and children.
About the Role
- Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging classroom and practical training sessions for new starters and existing staff.
- Deliver core mandatory and specialist training including:
- Moving and handling / moving people safely
- Medication administration
- First aid for adults and children
- Safeguarding adults and safeguarding children
- Provide training and guidance on mental health, behaviours that challenge and complex health conditions (e.g. PEG, tracheostomy, ventilation, epilepsy and other long‑term conditions within scope of competence).
- Assess staff competency in practice, provide clear feedback and support action plans where further development is needed.
- Ensure all training reflects current legislation, CQC/Ofsted expectations, Skills for Care guidance and best practice.
- Maintain accurate training records, compliance matrices and refresher schedules for all services.
- Work closely with service managers and the senior leadership team to identify training needs and support staff development across all services and age groups.
About You
Essential
- Strong recent experience delivering care training in:
- Moving and handling / moving people safely
- Medication administration in social care settings
- First aid for both adults and children
- Safeguarding adults and safeguarding children
- Solid knowledge of mental health, positive and proactive support, and working with people who have complex health conditions.
- Confident, engaging trainer with excellent presentation skills and the ability to adapt to different learning styles and levels.
- Able to assess competence, document outcomes clearly and follow up on development needs.
- Strong IT skills for creating learning materials and maintaining digital training records.
- Excellent communication, organisation and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage your own workload.
Ideally, you will also have
- A background working in care (e.g. HCA, Support Worker, Nurse, Senior Carer or similar) in adults’ and/or children’s services.
- Experience delivering training for all‑age services, including children’s packages and family‑based support.
- A recognised training/education qualification (e.g. AET/PTLLS or equivalent).
