Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Bricklayer/Builder to join our dynamic construction team. The role involves working on a variety of local projects, including single-storey extensions, home improvements, drainage works, landscaping, and general building work. You will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining high-quality structures while ensuring safety, durability, and excellent workmanship. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Construct and repair brick, block, and stonework to a high standard.
- Work on local residential projects, including single-storey extensions, garden walls, patios, drainage, landscaping, and general building works.
- Prepare surfaces by mixing and applying mortar for secure bonding.
- Operate hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels effectively.
- Use power tools including drills, saws, and grinders to complete construction tasks.
- Carry out drainage installation and repairs.
- Complete landscaping tasks, including paving, edging, and groundworks where required.
- Assist with carpentry, roofing, or other general building tasks when needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised worksite.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Requirements
- Proven experience in bricklaying, masonry, or general building is essential.
- Experience in drainage and landscaping is essential.
- Experience working on single-storey extensions and small residential construction projects is highly desirable.
- Good spoken and written English skills to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, and site managers, and to understand construction drawings, health and safety procedures, and site instructions.
- Ability to read technical drawings and work from plans.
- Competent in the use of hand and power tools.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices.
- Good physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
- CSCS Card is desirable but not essential.
