The Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to support the smooth running of our kitchen. Working alongside the Cook, you will help with meal preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and ensure a high standard of food hygiene is always followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing and serving nutritious meals for residents
- Support the Cook in catering for special dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Help with stock rotation, deliveries, and proper food storage
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant (care or healthcare setting desirable)
- Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate (training can be provided if not already held)
- Knowledge of food hygiene and safe kitchen practices
- Ability to work as part of a small, friendly team
- Caring, patient, and dependable nature
