Events Manager – Barca Castlefield
Location: Castlefield, Manchester
About the Role
Barca Castlefield is looking for an exceptional Events Manager to join our team.
Set in the heart of Castlefield, Manchester, Barca offers four unique event spaces, giving us the flexibility to host everything from intimate private celebrations and corporate events to larger parties, special occasions and bespoke events.
At the heart of this role is one thing: delivering outstanding events and memorable guest experiences.
As Events Manager, you will take ownership of events across all four spaces, from planning through to delivery. You will work closely with our clients to understand their vision, coordinate every detail and ensure each event feels effortless, polished and personal.
This is a hands-on hospitality role for someone with exceptional standards, strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for events. You will be visible throughout our events, leading from the front, anticipating the needs of clients and guests and ensuring our service, presentation and hospitality consistently meet the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of events from confirmation through to successful delivery.
- Manage events across Barca Castlefield's four event spaces, ensuring consistently high standards throughout.
- Build strong relationships with clients, becoming their trusted point of contact throughout the planning journey.
- Understand each client's vision, priorities and expectations and translate them into a detailed event plan.
- Create thoughtful and seamless guest journeys from arrival through to departure.
- Produce detailed event schedules, function sheets, timelines and operational briefs.
- Coordinate all elements of each event, including food and beverage, room layouts, entertainment, AV, styling, décor and external suppliers.
- Conduct client planning meetings and venue walkthroughs, offering guidance and recommendations where appropriate.
- Ensure every event is thoroughly prepared and clearly communicated to the wider venue and hospitality team.
- Oversee event setup, paying close attention to presentation, atmosphere and the finer details that elevate the guest experience.
- Lead event delivery on the day, ensuring service is warm, professional and attentive throughout.
- Anticipate client and guest requirements rather than waiting to be asked.
- Remain calm and composed during live events, resolving any challenges discreetly, quickly and professionally.
- Work closely with the wider hospitality team to ensure food, beverage and service standards are consistently excellent.
- Build positive working relationships with suppliers, entertainers and external partners.
- Oversee event breakdown and ensure the venue is handed back to the required standard.
- Gather client feedback and continually identify opportunities to improve our events, service and overall guest experience.
Our Hospitality Standards
At Barca Castlefield, we want every client and every guest who comes through our doors to feel genuinely looked after.
For us, premium hospitality isn't about being overly formal. It's about warmth, attention to detail and exceptional service delivered naturally.
The Events Manager will play a key role in setting and maintaining that standard.
You will notice the small things others might miss, understand when a client needs reassurance, recognise when a guest needs assistance and ensure the team is always one step ahead.
Our aim is for every event to feel effortless to the client — even when there is a huge amount happening behind the scenes.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong experience planning and delivering events within a quality venue, hospitality, hotel or events environment.
- Has a genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences.
- Understands what exceptional service looks and feels like.
- Has excellent attention to detail and consistently high standards.
- Is confident, personable and comfortable building strong relationships with clients.
- Is highly organised and capable of managing multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
- Remains calm, composed and solutions-focused under pressure.
- Leads by example and is comfortable being highly visible during events.
- Communicates clearly and confidently with clients, colleagues and suppliers.
- Takes ownership and has a proactive approach to getting things done.
- Understands the importance of presentation, atmosphere and the finer details that make an event memorable.
- Is commercially aware while never losing sight of the client and guest experience.
Working Hours
As an events-led venue, many of our key events take place during evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate must be available and willing to work evenings and weekends as part of their normal working pattern, with hours varying in line with the venue's event calendar.
This is a hands-on role, and the Events Manager will be expected to be present for key events, leading from the front and ensuring our clients and guests receive an exceptional experience from arrival through to departure.
The Person
You'll be someone who takes real pride in delivering an exceptional event.
You'll enjoy getting to know clients, understanding what matters to them and finding ways to exceed their expectations.
You'll be equally comfortable discussing the finer details of an event with a client, briefing the hospitality team before service and being on the floor during a busy event making sure everything is exactly where it needs to be.
Most importantly, you'll understand that great hospitality is about how you make people feel.
We want someone who will help make Barca Castlefield known not simply as a great event venue in Manchester, but as a destination recognised for exceptional events, genuine hospitality and outstanding guest experiences.
