We are looking for an organised and proactive Transport Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently and in line with customer requirements.
This is a fully office-based role providing day-to-day leadership and support to our drivers. You will coordinate routes, vehicles and deliveries, monitor transport performance and compliance, and act as a key link between Transport, CXT/Sales, customers, suppliers, warehouse teams and the wider Operations function.
A key part of the role will be reporting, data analysis and performance monitoring. You will be responsible for producing accurate and timely transport reports, analysing operational data and using insights to identify trends, issues and opportunities for improvement. Strong Excel skills will be essential, including the ability to manage and analyse large datasets, create reports and dashboards, use formulas and pivot tables, and present clear performance information to support operational and management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate daily vehicle movements, routes, deliveries and collections
- Produce accurate and timely transport performance reports using Excel, analysing operational data, identifying trends and issues, and presenting clear insights to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Provide day-to-day line management, support and guidance to company drivers
- Monitor live transport activity, driver attendance, working hours, conduct, performance and compliance
- Respond to delays, failed deliveries, route issues and other operational exceptions, resolving or escalating where appropriate
- Coordinate delivery and collection schedules and daily order bookings through customer and supplier portals
- Liaise with CXT/Sales, customers, warehouse teams, drivers and third-party suppliers to resolve transport and service issues
- Ensure transport operations comply with company policies, Health & Safety requirements and relevant transport legislation
- Monitor vehicle checks, defects, maintenance, cleaning and fleet compliance
- Maintain accurate transport, driver, vehicle and compliance records, including delivery documentation and PODs
- Maintain TMS, ERP, telematics and other operational systems and databases
- Maintain transport KPIs, analyse operational data and prepare regular performance reports
- Monitor operational costs, driver hours, mileage and vehicle activity
- Identify and support improvements to transport efficiency, service levels and operational processes
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in transport, logistics, fleet or distribution operations
- Experience supervising or coordinating drivers or a transport team
- Strong planning, organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong Excel skills and experience producing and interpreting operational reports
- Experience using TMS, ERP, telematics or other transport/operational systems
- Good understanding of transport documentation, scheduling, route planning and delivery processes
- Good understanding of Health & Safety and transport compliance requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make effective operational decisions
- Ability to work calmly and professionally under pressure and manage changing priorities
- Proactive, reliable, detail-focused and solutions-oriented approach
- Customer-focused and commercially aware
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to lead and motivate drivers while working collaboratively with wider teams
Desirable:
- Knowledge of driver hours, Working Time Directive and relevant transport legislation
- Experience with O-Licence administration, fleet compliance or vehicle maintenance
- Experience with vehicle tracking or route planning systems
- Experience in a fast-paced delivery, food service, retail or multi-drop environment
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
