Job Summary
A vacancy exists split on an as needs basis between three of our departments.
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Driver/Mechanic/Cylinder Operative to join our team!
The candidate will be required to drive 3.5 ton and 7.5 ton vehicles; counterbalance fork lift truck would be an advantage. The role will require a UK driving license with C1 + E entitlement. ADR 2.2 Packages would be an advantage, but training will be provided for the successful candidate.
The role involves delivering gas cylinders to various customers across North West England.
Our vehicle technician also requires assistance in the garage. The candidate should possess basic skills for motor vehicle maintenance and repairs under the direction of our technician. The ability to weld would be an advantage.
We also maintain, test and refurbish our gas cylinders. The department occasionally requires assistance.
Duties
- Safely operate a truck to transport goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload items, ensuring proper handling of heavy lifting as required.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including times, locations, and any issues encountered.

- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers regarding delivery schedules and requirements.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, basic repairs, and maintenance tasks to keep fleet vehicles in optimal condition
- Assist vehicle technician
- Proven delivery driver experience with a valid driver’s license; commercial driving experience is highly desirable
- Experience operating FLT
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely for extended periods
- Demonstrated reliability in adhering to schedules and safety procedures
