Service Description
Young UK Today operates two therapeutic children's homes in South Croydon. Willow House supports children with learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental needs, while Olive House provides specialist care for children subject to DoLS. Both homes offer child-centred care supported by a multidisciplinary clinical team.
Job Purpose
To provide safe, therapeutic, and child-centred care that helps children feel valued, supported, and able to achieve their full potential.
The Senior Residential Support Worker builds positive relationships with children, delivers care in line with individual plans and needs, and promotes safeguarding, inclusion, wellbeing, and positive outcomes. They maintain high standards of care, recording, and professional practice, support colleagues through role modelling and guidance, and undertake delegated Team Leader responsibilities when required.
The Senior Residential Support Worker will carry out their responsibilities in accordance with:

General Duties
- Provide positive leadership, role model good practice, and support colleagues.
- Deliver safe, therapeutic, child-centred care and build positive relationships with children.
- Create a warm, homely environment that promotes wellbeing, inclusion, independence, and positive experiences.
- Support children with daily living skills, education, appointments, family time, and community activities.
- Promote equality, safeguarding, professional standards, and the voice of the child.
- Contribute to a positive team culture and undertake delegated responsibilities as required.
Care Planning & Daily Practice
- Support the implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and support strategies.
- Act as Shift Lead in the Team Leader's absence where delegated.
- Deliver consistent care that meets each child's individual needs, strengths, and goals.
- Support children to develop independence, life skills, education, and positive outcomes.
- Act as Key Worker where allocated and contribute to care reviews and planning.
- Monitor progress, identify changes in needs or risks, and report concerns appropriately.
Safeguarding
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.
- Identify, report, and respond to safeguarding concerns without delay.
- Maintain professional curiosity and follow safeguarding plans and risk management procedures.
- Build trusting relationships that encourage children to share concerns.
- Maintain professional boundaries, challenge poor practice, and contribute to safeguarding learning and improvement.
Recording & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, timely, and child-centred records using ClearCare and other systems.
- Complete daily logs, incidents, key work records, progress reports, medication records, and other required documentation.
- Support colleagues to maintain high recording standards.
- Administer medication safely and report any concerns promptly.
- Participate in handovers and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Pay: £15.00-£15.50 per hour
