Regional Sales Manager – South East & East of England

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am–4.00pm (37.5 hours per week)
The Role
We are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Regional Sales Manager to develop and grow sales of our products across the South East and East of England.
You will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with distributors, builders' merchants, clients, contractors, specifiers and end users throughout the region.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing sales role requiring strong commercial awareness, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to identify opportunities and provide practical solutions to customers.
You will work closely with our Customer Services, Production, Logistics and Technical teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience from initial enquiry through to delivery, product use and ongoing customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, agree and implement regional sales plans to achieve and exceed sales and margin targets.
- Manage and grow relationships with existing distribution partners and builders' merchants.
- Identify and secure new merchant accounts, customers and commercial opportunities throughout the region.
- Conduct regular customer visits to strengthen relationships and identify opportunities for further business.
- Deliver product presentations, demonstrations and training to merchant staff and customers where required.
- Provide technical and commercial advice to merchants, contractors, landscapers, specifiers and end users.
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, merchant open days and industry events.
- Prepare quotations and negotiate prices, commercial terms and supply agreements within company guidelines.
- Ensure company pricing policies and commercial procedures are consistently followed.
- Work closely with Customer Services, Production, Logistics and Technical departments to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Resolve customer and merchant issues professionally, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing and market trends and provide regular commercial feedback to management.
- Maintain accurate records of customer visits, quotations, opportunities and sales forecasts using the company CRM system.
- Produce regular sales reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Maintain excellent product knowledge and stay informed of developments within the landscaping and construction industries.
- Promote the Steintec brand professionally at all times.
- Carry out any other duties reasonably required by the Company and within your capabilities.
About You
The successful candidate will be a confident, motivated and commercially focused sales professional with a proven ability to develop new business while managing and growing existing customer relationships.
Skills and Experience
- Proven track record in business development and customer account management.
- Experience selling through distributors, builders' merchants and/or garden centres.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong negotiation and commercial awareness.
- Excellent relationship-building and networking abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Highly organised with strong planning and time-management skills.
- Professional, confident and customer-focused.
- Ability to identify commercial opportunities and convert them into profitable sales.
- Good analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Comfortable using CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, Zoom and similar applications.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the South East and East of England, with occasional overnight stays.
Travel
This role involves extensive travel throughout the South East and East of England, visiting distributors, merchants, clients, contractors, construction sites, specifiers and end users.
Occasional travel to other company locations, exhibitions and industry events may also be required, including occasional overnight stays.
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm, totalling 37.5 hours per week.
Due to the nature of the role, flexibility will occasionally be required to accommodate customer meetings, exhibitions, networking events and overnight travel.
