Job Overview
We are seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our team at Villa Romana Liverpool. This role involves supporting the kitchen operations by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen environment.
Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering setting is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all kitchen areas are kept clean and organised, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with ingredient organisation and stock replenishment
- Maintain hygiene standards in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
- Help with setting up and clearing down dining areas when required
- Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures is beneficial
- Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering environments is an advantage
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with good communication skills
- Flexibility to work shifts as required within a hospitality setting
