Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our Sherburn in Elmet site. This role plays a key part in keeping our manufacturing equipment, machinery and facilities running safely and efficiently through planned maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding and continuous improvement.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance engineer with a strong electrical background to help reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability and support a fast-paced manufacturing operation through effective planned and reactive maintenance.
What You Will Be Doing
As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will help maintain and improve operational performance by completing planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns and supporting continuous improvement activity across the site. Your responsibilities will include:
· Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment and facilities to support safe and efficient production
- Supporting product development, testing, and implementation within the manufacturing department
- Carrying out quality assurance checks on ongoing projects
- Responding quickly to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs to minimise downtime
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and performance
- Keeping up to date with the latest developments and innovations in electrical engineering
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company procedures and Health & Safety standards
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, continuous improvement, and working within a technically advanced manufacturing environment.
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Electrical Maintenance Engineer who can bring technical expertise and a strong work ethic to the team.
Ideal candidates will:
- Hold an HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
- Have extensive experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Have a strong understanding of electrical systems and manufacturing processes
- Be experienced or familiar with PLC/HMI programming (Rockwell and/or Siemens)
- Have strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Be able to read and interpret technical and CAD drawings
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal
- Be organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Have knowledge of kitchen manufacturing or paint processes (advantageous but not essential)
