Cherry Tree Cafe is looking for a cheerful & friendly person to work in our busy and fast paced Café in the beautiful village of Eynsham. We have a strong emphasis using fresh organic & local produce. We pride ourselves in being at the heart of the community and a friendly & welcoming place for all.
Our Café currently offers our customers delicious homemade food including soups, salads and lots of specials. We have a three-acre smallholding where we grow produce to supply our shop (The Market Garden) and the café. We also offer ice creams, cakes, cream teas, afternoon teas, as well as hot & cold drinks and alcoholic beverages. We have 45 covers (30 outdoor 15 inside) We are currently having an exciting extension built to maintain year round covers of approx 45.
We have an opening for one or two part time positions.
Responsibilities would include:
- Involved in the day to day café operations including cooking, front of house, back of house (including kitchen porter duties) making coffees, equipment cleanliness and maintenance.
- Ensure café is kept clean and hygienic and reaches standards set by environmental health
- Accurate daily, weekly and monthly records are kept.
- Liaise with the manager on reordering & general supplies.
- Ensure high standards of customer service are met at all times.
- Other duties as reasonably required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- Excellent, highly organised and imaginative person who can work well under pressure and as part of small but well-balanced team to delivery exception quality and service.
- Food safety certificate Level 2 (or a willingness to obtain one)
- Determination to make the café succeed
- Able to learn, prepare and cook a variety of café foods including toasties, sandwich fillings, fresh salads, soups etc. Since we source our baked goods locally, we do not require any baking skills, though it would be an advantage.
- Be a team player and willing to step in to help others during busy periods if necessary.
- Over 18 years old

Pay: £12.71 per hour
