A vacancy has arisen to join Your NRG’s Finance team at their head office in Hartlepool to support the businesses continued success and growth. Incorporated in 2007, Your NRG is a privately owned liquid fuel distribution business with national coverage, operating out of 23 regional locations, recognised as the 4th Top UK Mainland Fuel Oil Distributor. We service a diverse customer base including commercial and agricultural customers, the armed forces, the emergency services, including Police, Fire and Rescue, Ambulance, MOD, councils and domestic homeowners.
Your NRG are a dynamic company with ambition and we are looking for a further like-minded individual to join the Finance team to support the Financial Controller & Finance Director along with the wider finance team.
Role Description:
As Management Accountant you will report directly to the Financial Controller. Your role will be a combination of supporting both the Financial Controller & Finance Director and also working alongside the wider Finance Department.
This role will give you sole responsibility over; daily cash flow maintenance & management, supervising and closing off month end ledgers and preparing the lion’s share of the month end reporting.
You will need to work with initiative, be inquisitive and show creativity as we need you to be able to identify control/system inefficiencies; you will need to be able to ‘think outside the box’ to find optimal solutions to problems/issues found. We also need you to be commercially aware and be able to dig through data and financial information to suggest cost control measures.

The Role Requirements:
· Month End Procedures including:
o Review of schedules prepared by the Finance Assistants; Month end Bank Reconciliation, fixed assets schedule & depreciation, truck cost report & ad hoc accruals schedules
o Bad Debt Review
o Accruals and Prepayments
o Month end stock reconciliations
o Pension and Payroll Reconciliations
o Prepare monthly management accounts with supporting commentary
o Depot P&L Prep & Review
o Trial Balance Checks ensuring all balancing to a supporting schedule
· Review of the weekly payment run prepared by the Finance Assistant & submission to the bank by the weekly deadline
· RDCO analysis and reporting to feedback to the commercial Sales Manager and Financial Controller
· Monthly VAT Reconciliation and Filing
· Ad hoc reporting, analysis and supporting commentary as required by Financial Controller
· Periodic internal audit of all finance functions to highlight necessary control or process improvements or AI use cases.
· Monthly inter-company ERP reconciliation
· Involvement in implementation of new controls/systems, must be a promoter of AI and automation
· Support the Financial controller with the year-end audit processes and insurance renewals
· Holiday cover and assistance as required on other finance functions including credit control and purchase ledger as necessary.
· Answering the office phone to help with customer queries.
Key Competences Required for the Role:

Additional information
· Experience and knowledge of Excel (advanced level – pivot tables, lookups, sum ifs, data manipulation and reporting)
· Proven experience within industry finance department or a finance practice background with strong management accounts experience – minimum 5 years
· AAT Level 4 or part qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA (essential)

Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
