Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and personable Bar Staff to join our team at The Black Horse. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service in a lively bar environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop hospitality skills and be part of a friendly team. Previous experience in a bar setting is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided. The position is paid and suitable for individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding service and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Serve beverages and food items efficiently and courteously to customers
- Take orders accurately and handle cash or card transactions with precision
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including glassware and utensils
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and responsible alcohol service regulations
- Engage with guests to create a friendly and inviting environment
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
- Monitor guest behaviour to promote responsible drinking and safety
- Assist in setting up and clearing tables and bar areas during busy periods
Qualifications
- Previous experience in the role is desirable but not essential
- Strong serving skills with excellent customer service abilities
- Good understanding of basic maths for handling transactions accurately
- Effective time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining professionalism
- Friendly, approachable demeanour with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
