On 1 April 2026, NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) and NHS Education for Scotland (NES) became one national organisation, focused on continuity today and a stronger, more connected service for tomorrow.
As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.
About the Organisation:
PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.
We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.
Service Level Agreement:
This is an exciting opportunity with Public Services Delivery Scotland, supporting our role hosting a range of strategic and managed clinical networks, to provide senior medical leadership for the National Networks and Lead Clinicians within them, delivering improved health outcomes, reduced health inequalities and value-based health care.
The successful candidate will work with vibrant teams within both National Services Division and the Clinical Directorate. You will have opportunities to work with a diverse range of staff both nationally and internationally across the whole range of our services.
5 sessions will be worked on a fixed pattern to meet the needs of the position, enabling the right candidate to retain sessions of clinical practice in a relevant discipline.
The Candidate:
You will be a proven professional leader with demonstrable experience of working, at or equivalent to consultant level, across multi-disciplinary teams and improving outcomes through partnership working. You will be an excellent influencer with the ability to develop effective stakeholder relationships and to drive strategic service development.
Candidates must have current GMC registration at the time of applying and you will require to be a registered medical practitioner or GP licensed to practice in the UK
The successful candidate will be required to undergo a PVG Scheme Disclosure/Disclosure Scotland check. Any candidate who has worked overseas for more than 3 months will also be required to provide a criminal record check from the appropriate overseas agency.
Location and Working Pattern:
Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Delta House, Glasgow - please note that we currently operate a hybrid working policy
Work Pattern: Monday to Friday, 5 sessions per week
It is a condition of this agreement that you must live and remain a resident within the UK and have entitlement to work in the UK for the post in which you will be employed.
