Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant specializing in baking and salad preparation to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be instrumental in preparing fresh salads, baked goods, and other food items that meet our high standards for quality and presentation. Duties
- Assist in preparing salads, baked goods, and other cold or hot dishes according to established recipes and safety standards.
- Support the kitchen team with meal preparation, ensuring ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and ready for use.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including washing utensils, chopping ingredients, and cleaning surfaces regularly.
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure all food is prepared hygienically and stored correctly to prevent contamination.
- Help with inventory checks by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and notifying supervisors of shortages or expired items.
- Support serving staff during meal service by providing prepared items promptly and accurately.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively and assisting colleagues as needed.
Skills
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant work, or kitchen environments is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, especially baking and salad making.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and proper hygiene practices.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in food prep and presentation.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and supporting service needs.
- A genuine interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills within the kitchen.
