Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter and Decorator to join our growing construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for completing the projects started by other directly employed trades, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet client specifications after an insurance peril event.
Though based in Northampton travel to is frequent, up to an hour and a half from the office.
Vehicle, fuel, uniform and company phone all provided. Any requirement to stay away (infrequently) is paid for in addition to a food allowance on top of salary.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and decorative finishes with precision and attention to detail
- Use a variety of tools including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and scaffolding to achieve desired effects
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to understand decorating requirements and provide expert advice
- Maintain a safe work environment by following health and safety protocols at all times
- Manage time effectively to complete projects within designated deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Drive company vehicles to various job sites as needed, ensuring timely arrival and departure
Experience
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Valid driving license with reliable transportation to access multiple work sites
- Fluency in English for clear communication with team members and clients
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate tasks effectively and understand project specifications
- Familiarity with safety procedures related to working at heights and handling hazardous materials is preferred
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments
- Knowledge of different painting techniques, surface preparation methods, and decorating styles
Salary dependent on experience
Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
