Project Café in Horley is run by adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health support needs. We are looking for someone compassionate and enthusiastic to lead our back-of-house operations while supporting service users in the kitchen. Alongside managing the safe and efficient day-to-day running of the kitchen, you will help individuals develop practical skills, build confidence and become more independent.
Location: Horley
Hours: Monday to Friday 8.45 to 16.15.
Our café is open from 9AM to 4PM.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting and training service users in kitchen tasks and food preparation
- Planning and organising specials and seasonal menus
- Managing procurement of ingredients and supplies
- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
What We’re Looking For:
- A genuine passion for food and creativity in the kitchen
- Experience working in a busy food service environment
- A supportive and patient approach to mentoring others
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Essential: A valid UK driving licence and access to a car
- Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check
