Location: Colchester, Essex
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, office-based
Hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven Tech Recruitment Consultant to join our growing recruitment team in Colchester.
This is an exciting opportunity for a recruiter who already understands the technology recruitment market and is looking to take the next step in their career within an ambitious and growing business.
You will have the opportunity to work across both permanent and contract IT recruitment, developing and managing relationships with candidates and clients across the technology sector.
Importantly, this is a warm desk opportunity. You will not be expected to build everything from scratch — you will have access to existing relationships, opportunities and a strong platform from which to grow and develop your own desk.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of their market, identify opportunities and build long-term relationships while delivering a high-quality recruitment service to both clients and candidates.
The Opportunity
As an experienced Tech Recruitment Consultant, you will take responsibility for managing and growing your own desk across permanent and contract recruitment.
You will be supported by an experienced team, established processes and existing business, while having the autonomy to develop your own client and candidate relationships.
The role offers the opportunity to:
- Manage both permanent and contract recruitment processes
- Develop and grow an existing warm desk
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and candidates
- Work across a range of IT and technology disciplines
- Identify new opportunities and develop existing accounts
- Build your own specialist network within the technology market
- Take ownership of your own pipeline, targets and revenue
- Develop into a specialist within your chosen technology market
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the full recruitment lifecycle from initial requirement through to placement
- Managing both permanent and contract vacancies
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients
- Identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts and develop new business
- Sourcing, attracting and qualifying high-quality IT professionals
- Building and maintaining a strong candidate network
- Conducting candidate interviews and providing market insight
- Understanding client requirements and delivering appropriate recruitment solutions
- Managing candidate pipelines and maintaining accurate CRM records
- Negotiating salaries, rates and offers
- Managing the process through to successful placement and beyond
- Supporting and managing contractors throughout their assignments where applicable
- Keeping clients and candidates updated throughout the recruitment process
- Working towards and exceeding individual revenue and activity targets
- Keeping up to date with technology trends and developments within the IT recruitment market
- Contributing to the wider success and growth of the recruitment team
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced IT or Tech Recruitment Consultant who is confident managing both candidates and clients and understands what it takes to build and grow a successful recruitment desk.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience within IT / Technology Recruitment
- Experience recruiting into either permanent, contract or both markets
- A proven track record of building candidate and client relationships
- Strong business development and sales ability
- Confidence negotiating salaries, rates and offers
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A commercial and target-driven mindset
- The ability to manage your own desk and pipeline
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Resilience, ambition and a genuine desire to succeed
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team

Working Location & Hours
This is a fully office-based position, Monday to Friday, from our office in the Colchester area.
Hours: 8:30am – 5:30pm
