Duties
- Assist with the loading and unloading of shipments using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment while adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Operate RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick, pack, and process orders for shipment.
- Support order picking activities with precision using <PERSON> pickers and ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders.
- Manage shipping and receiving tasks by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, and documenting all movements accurately.
- Handle materials safely by performing heavy lifting tasks, stacking pallets, and organizing inventory within designated storage areas.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate the use of cranes and other mechanical tools for larger or heavier items.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace by regularly inspecting equipment such as forklift trucks and clamp trucks for mechanical issues and reporting any maintenance needs.
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience is highly preferred, especially in distribution centers or construction-related environments.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, or pallet jacks is essential; certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment use.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory control software.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues with heavy equipment.
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes including order picking, load & unload activities, and inventory management.
