Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the hospitality industry, particularly within a restaurant. The Kitchen Porter will support chefs and kitchen staff by managing cleaning duties, assisting with food preparation, and ensuring health and safety standards are upheld. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision, including peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients.
- Support chefs during busy service periods by ensuring the kitchen remains tidy and well-stocked.
- Collect and dispose of waste materials in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, sinks, and storage areas to prevent hazards.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are used safely and stored correctly.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and organising stock within the kitchen area.
- Follow all health and safety policies to create a safe working environment for all staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of kitchen safety procedures and hygiene standards is necessary.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including daytime evenings or weekends if necessary.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced environment.
- Food and hygiene qualifications is preferred.

Pay: £10.00-£12.21 per hour
