Salary - £40,405.61 + 30% shift allowance
Location – Immingham, North East Lincolnshire, DN40 2LZ
Pattern of Work – 42 hours, shifts
What you need to know about the role
You will act as the engineering specialist on days/shifts to perform preventative maintenance and inspection work to professional standards as required to meet quality control and performance standards. Also to provide expertise and resource to identify and quickly rectify faults to ensure continuity of manufacturing to specified quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all activity is undertaken in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
- Underpin manufacturing performance and support manufacturing Improvement and works development plans.
- Identify improvement opportunities through collaborative working with relevant groups.
- To ensure that changes to plant, process procedures and organisation are appropriately risk accessed in line with the works management of change process
- To be responsible for the any isolation and immobilization related activities for the position of craft maintenance
- Provide engineering expertise and advice in order to diagnose and correct complex faults in the manufacturing process equipment.
- Ensure that maintenance work undertaken is completed to time and to appropriate safety and engineering standards.
- Develop expertise and keep up to date in maintenance techniques and equipment development, applicable to a medium/heavy manufacturing environment by self-study and attendance on appropriate courses.
- Provide comprehensive reports on breakdowns, repairs and related engineering activities where appropriate recommending improvements to equipment or systems.
- Undertake training as required for new specialists, other engineering grades, and manufacturing teams.
- Where necessary to provide cover on flexible shifts as required for continued repair during breakdown situations.
What we need to know about you
You must be qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in a relevant mechanical trade or have served a recognised apprenticeship*
You should ideally be able to demonstrate experience and competence in a similar role. You should be able to demonstrate a high level of practical appreciation and application of technology to process and plant equipment. Ideally you will have a thorough working knowledge of H&S principles and British Steel systems.
