Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Semi Skilled Mechanic and play a vital role in maintaining and repairing a variety of HGV Units & Trailers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your mechanical skills while contributing to the smooth operation of our facilities. You will work closely with our office staff & drivers, to ensure maintenance, and minor repairs are carried out, to keep our modern fleet maintained to the highest standard.
Duties
- To carry out checks on units & trailers for minor defects and carry repairs as necessary
- Conduct routine maintenance checks to identify potential issues before they escalate
- Inspect tyres for wear & tear, tyre pressure, general condition
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities for accountability
- Contact with office staff to ensure defects are completed as requested.
Skills
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment safely and effectively
- Experience in Routine maintenance of HGV equipment
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external clients regarding repairs or inquiries
- Knowledge of equipment repair techniques and preventive maintenance practices
This part-time role requires weekend work, based on every Saturday alternatining weekends Saturday & Sunday, whilst the fleet is parked. Travel will be required between our sites which include Emborough, Avonmouth, Walsall & Luton. Will be based at Emborough (Radstock) a fully equipped van is provided. Over 25's only to apply. Pay: £2,100.00-£2,800.00 per month
