Job Vacancy: Senior Healthcare Assistant Nights
Location: Lulworth House Residential Care Home in Maidstone, Kent
Contracted hours: 33 hours (to include – every other weekend free, as applicable),
Work flexibility in accordance with your availability and the service requirements
(Hourly) rate of pay: From £13.50

We are looking for an experienced and confident Night Senior who can lead by example and provide a high standard of care throughout the night.
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience in a senior care role and be confident leading a team by example.

Have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with residents, colleagues and external professionals.

Have a strong understanding of safe and effective medication management and be confident taking responsibility for medication administration and related procedures.

Be confident working independently and able to use their own initiative, particularly in the absence of a Deputy Manager or Registered Manager during the night shift.

Be able to make appropriate decisions, respond calmly to situations that arise and escalate concerns when required.

Provide clear, accurate and comprehensive handovers to ensure continuity of care between shifts.

Maintain accurate records and reporting, ensuring any incidents, concerns or changes in residents' needs are appropriately documented and communicated.

Be committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care and supporting the wider night team to maintain a safe and positive environment for residents.

The Senior Healthcare Assistant responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Providing leadership to the care staff within the service.

Providing care in accordance with current best practices, policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements and relevant regulations, under the direction of the manager.

Carrying out and supervise the care services within the organisation in accordance with agreed standards.

Maintaining skills at a current level, and undertake such training and development as may, from time-to-time, be required to maintain practices as up to date.

Supervising staff and ensuring that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service.
- Supporting effective communication with the residents' families, friends, advocates or representative around all aspects of care and wellbeing.
