We are recruiting 6 Manufacturing Team Leaders to join our production team at Teconnex in Keighley
We have opportunities available across our AM and PM shifts:
AM Shift Monday to Thursday: 05:30 – 14:00 Friday: 05:30 – 11:30
PM Shift Monday to Thursday: 14:00 – 22:30 Friday: 11:30 – 17:30
As a Manufacturing Team Leader, you will play a key role in managing people, processes and equipment to ensure production targets are achieved safely, efficiently, on time and to the required quality standards.
Working closely with the Group Leader, you will provide hands-on leadership to production operatives, organise daily activities, monitor performance and drive improvements across Safety, Quality and Production.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead, motivate, coach and develop production operatives to achieve daily objectives.
- Ensure Health & Safety and Quality are at the forefront of all production activities.
- Organise people, machinery, materials and product flow to achieve daily production schedules on time and in full.
- Monitor hourly and daily performance, identifying risks to production targets and taking appropriate action.
- Communicate daily priorities covering Safety, Quality, Production and wider business requirements.
- Identify production bottlenecks and issues, escalating where appropriate with clear, time-bound actions.
- Maintain and promote high standards of 5S and housekeeping.
- Ensure employees have the appropriate skills and training to carry out their roles effectively.
- Coach and support team members, recognising good performance and addressing performance or behavioural concerns.
- Support attendance management, return-to-work discussions, wellbeing meetings and other people-management activities.
- Support root cause analysis of quality issues using structured problem-solving techniques such as A3 and 8D.
- Encourage employees to raise ideas and concerns relating to Health & Safety, Quality, Production and waste reduction.
- Work collaboratively with Group Leaders and other departments to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure company policies, procedures and compliance requirements are consistently followed.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Strong leadership skills, ideally gained within a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong internal working relationships.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good awareness of business and production systems.
- Confidence leading, motivating and developing a production team.
- Ability to organise people and priorities within a busy manufacturing environment.
- A proactive approach to Health & Safety, Quality, Production and problem solving.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a Manufacturing Team Leader, Production Team Leader, Supervisor or similar.
- Experience of Lean Manufacturing, 5S or continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis, A3 and/or 8D.
- Experience managing employee performance, attendance and development.
- Experience within a quality-controlled manufacturing environment.
