Senior Engineer Job Description
Altrad are currently looking to recruit a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Engineering team, supporting the design, analysis, and delivery of temporary roofing systems and structural solutions across projects in the UK and internationally.
Reporting into the Engineering function, the Senior Engineer will provide technical leadership across product and project activities, supporting compliance, innovation, and successful project delivery while mentoring a small team of technicians.
Key Deliverables:
- Lead and mentor a small team of technicians to deliver high-quality engineering outputs and technical support.
- Design, analyse, and verify structural products and project installations in line with technical, safety, and compliance standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams, suppliers, clients, and external stakeholders.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of new and existing products.
- Ensure compliance with British and international engineering standards, regulations, and company procedures.
- Collaborate with suppliers, consultants, and external partners to support innovation and project delivery.
- Attend site visits, client meetings, and conferences in the UK and overseas as required.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of engineering projects across temporary works and structural applications.
Key Requirements/Qualifications:
- Chartered Engineer status, or working towards professional recognition with a relevant engineering institution.
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD, structural analysis software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Understanding of construction, scaffolding, temporary works, and related engineering sectors.
- Experience leading technical teams and supporting project delivery activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective client and supplier relationships.
- Ability to work collaboratively while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive approach to problem solving, innovation, and continuous improvement.
