This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager looking to join a well-established children's residential provider with an excellent reputation for delivering therapeutic, child-centred care.
Based within a 3-bed Ofsted Registered Children's Home , you will play a key leadership role, supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home while ensuring children receive outstanding care within a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment.
You'll lead by example, mentor staff, maintain high regulatory standards, and work directly with children to help them achieve positive and lasting outcomes.
As Deputy Manager, you will:
Support and deputise for the Registered Manager in the overall running of the home.
Lead, supervise and develop the residential team through coaching, mentoring and performance management.
Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations 2015, safeguarding legislation and company policies.
Build positive, therapeutic relationships with children and young people.
Support the implementation and review of individual care, behaviour and therapeutic plans.
Plan rotas, allocate staffing resources and ensure effective day-to-day operations.
Work collaboratively with social workers, education providers, therapists and other professionals.
Promote a stable, nurturing and child-focused environment where young people can thrive.
Our client is looking for an experienced residential childcare professional who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people while supporting and developing a high-performing staff team.
You'll ideally be someone who enjoys leading from the front, has excellent organisational skills and is committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for children.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Minimum 2 years' experience working within an Ofsted Registered Children's Home .
At least 1 year's experience in a Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader, Deputy Manager or supervisory position.
Excellent understanding of:
Proven leadership, delegation and team development skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Flexible to work a 2 on, 4 off rota , including sleep-ins and weekends.
Resilient, adaptable and able to perform well under pressure.
Committed to ongoing professional development.
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare.
Experience managing staff performance, supervision and team development.
