Crossgate Care Home is seeking to recruit a Care Assistant to join our team and provide care and support to residents living within our Home.
The role of a Care Assistant is to give direct patient care as directed by a trained nurse and support the resident in his/her plan of care.
Duties will include but not limited to:
- Assist residents with all aspects of personal care e.g. washing and dressing
- Assist residents with mobility - including moving and handling equipment
- Assist residents with eating and drinking, communication and joining in social activities
- Complete all documentation as requested by the manager/nurse
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the nursing home
Previous experience is preferred but training will be provided to the successful candidates. Must have SVQ in health and social care or be willing to do.
- Ensure all policies and guidelines are followed by all staff members
- Act as a mentor to all new care assistants and ensure they are working to their role
- Attend all in house and external training as required
- Report any issues or changes in a residents condition to the nurse in charge
