About the Role
You will take architectural concepts and turn them into the detailed technical information needed to make buildings work in the real world. From measured surveys and coordinated Revit models to construction details and Building Regulations packages, your work will bridge the gap between design ambition and practical delivery.
The role offers exposure to residential, commercial, refurbishment, and mixed-use projects at different stages of development. You will work alongside architects, consultants, engineers, contractors, and clients, solving technical challenges and helping projects move confidently from early design through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed architectural drawings and technical construction packages.
- Develop and maintain accurate Revit and AutoCAD models.
- Produce plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and construction details.
- Convert architectural concepts into technically coordinated design information.
- Carry out measured building and site surveys.
- Prepare existing and proposed building drawings from survey information.
- Assist with Building Regulations applications and technical submissions.
- Coordinate architectural information with structural and building-services designs.
- Review consultant drawings and identify potential design conflicts.
- Develop wall, roof, floor, window, door, and junction details.
- Research suitable construction materials and building systems.
- Support specification preparation and technical product selection.
- Respond to technical queries from contractors and consultants.
- Update drawings following design reviews and site changes.
- Maintain drawing registers and document-control records.
- Assist with planning-condition and technical documentation where required.
- Participate in design-team and project-coordination meetings.
- Conduct site visits to review construction progress against design information.
- Assist with resolving technical issues discovered during construction.
- Maintain accurate project files throughout each stage of delivery.
What We Are Looking For
- At least 2–4 years of experience in architectural technology, architectural design, technical architecture, or a related position.
- A degree or recognised qualification in architectural technology, architecture, construction technology, or a related discipline.
- Strong working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
- Experience producing detailed architectural and construction drawings.
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, detailing, and building systems.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and building-services information.
- Experience coordinating information from several design disciplines.
- Strong technical drawing and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to dimensions, specifications, and drawing accuracy.
- Ability to manage several project deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a design team.
- Strong written and spoken English.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working on residential, commercial, or refurbishment projects.
- Advanced Revit and BIM modelling capability.
- Familiarity with BIM coordination and information-management processes.
- Knowledge of planning and Building Regulations submission procedures.
- Experience preparing detailed construction packages.
- Familiarity with NBS specifications.
- Knowledge of sustainable construction and energy-efficient building design.
- Experience with SketchUp, Enscape, Navisworks, or comparable design software.
- Understanding of fire-safety and accessibility requirements.
- Experience attending construction sites and resolving technical design issues.
- CIAT membership or progress toward Chartered Architectural Technologist status.

A successful design may begin with an attractive concept, but your contribution ensures that dimensions align, materials make sense, consultants are coordinated, and contractors have the information required to construct it correctly.
You will enjoy investigating how buildings are assembled, spotting inconsistencies before they reach site, and refining technical details until they are both practical and visually consistent with the original design.
Pay: £2,600.00-£3,200.00 per month
