Job Summary:
The Village School of Dance is a thriving dance school primarily based in Wimbledon (this particular role is in Ashtead, Surrey) and is looking for a dynamic, energetic dance teacher who can deliver engaging dance classes to children in street dance or musical theatre at an after school club. This is a fantastic chance to become a part of a lovely school with lots of other opportunities including holiday camps, events and increasing hours. Experience in teaching ballet/tap/modern is preferable but not a requirement. Would also LOVE someone with Cheerleading experience as we are looking to introduce this to our Wimbledon timetable!
West Ashtead position is for:
Mondays 3:20-4:20pm
Thursdays 3:20 - 4:20pm
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance and teaching various dance styles to students of all ages and skill levels.
- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons that cater to the needs and abilities of students
- Create choreography for performances, recitals, and competitions
- Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their skills and performance
- Organise and supervise rehearsals to ensure dancers are prepared for upcoming events
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all students
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Dance Instructor or similar role
- Extensive knowledge of different dance styles and techniques
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire students
- Certification in dance or relevant field is desirable
