This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your animal care skills while working in a lively, team-oriented setting. this is a 2 week job but could be for a longer period of time for the right candidate
Duties
- Assist with daily cleaning and sanitation of kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a hygienic environment
- Feed, water, and monitor the health of animals according to established protocols
- Provide gentle handling and comfort to animals to reduce stress and promote well-being
- Assist with loading and unloading animals during transfers or appointments, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain accurate records of animal intake, discharge, and care activities
- Engage with pet owners courteously during check-in and check-out processes to ensure excellent customer service
Requirements
- Genuine love for animals and a compassionate attitude towards their needs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy animals or supplies
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Willingness to work in physically demanding environments with frequent standing, bending, and lifting
- Attention to detail for record keeping and maintaining cleanliness standards
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends or holidays as needed
