We are seeking an inspiring, values-led Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation through a period of consolidation, renewal and sustainable development, ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality services and achieve lasting impact.
The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a respected and well-established charity with a strong reputation, committed staff and volunteers, and deep roots within the communities we serve. Working closely with the Board of Trustees, staff, volunteers and partners, you will provide strategic, cultural and operational leadership, shaping the future direction of the organisation while ensuring excellent service delivery, organisational resilience and financial sustainability. You will lead the implementation of our strategic priorities, strengthen the organisation's financial position, build influential partnerships and foster a culture in which people feel empowered to deliver their best work. While accountable for income generation and financial sustainability, you will achieve this by working through and alongside staff, trustees and partners, building an organisation-wide approach to fundraising and relationship management. Success will be measured not only by financial resilience, but also by the quality of our services, the impact we deliver for children and families, the strength of our organisational culture and the confidence of our stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic and Organisational Leadership
· Provide inspiring, authentic and visible leadership across the organisation.
· Lead the delivery of the charity’s vision, mission and strategic objectives.
· Support organisational renewal, stability, innovation and continuous improvement.
· Hold overall accountability for organisational performance, ensuring delivery against agreed strategic objectives and impact measures.
· Foster an inclusive, values-led and high-performing culture where colleagues feel empowered, supported and accountable.
· Exercise delegated authority from the Board within agreed governance arrangements.
Impact and Service Delivery
· Ensure services consistently deliver meaningful outcomes for children, young people and families.
· Champion safeguarding and ensure robust safeguarding governance throughout the organisation.
· Promote a culture of continuous learning, quality improvement and innovation.
· Use evidence, data and stakeholder feedback to inform strategic priorities and service development.
· Champion equality, diversity and inclusion.
Financial Sustainability and Income Generation
· Lead the charity’s long-term financial sustainability through effective financial stewardship and strategic planning.
· Hold overall responsibility for organisational financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and long-term resilience.
· Ensure robust financial controls, effective resource allocation and high-quality management information.
· Work collaboratively with Trustees and senior colleagues to develop and deliver a sustainable income generation strategy.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with funders, commissioners, donors and strategic partners.
· Support the diversification of income streams and strengthen fundraising capability across the organisation.
· Ensure fundraising is embedded throughout the organisation and not dependent on any one individual.
Partnerships and External Relations
· Act as an ambassador for Jigsaw4u.
· Build and strengthen partnerships across the voluntary, statutory and private sectors.
· Enhance the charity’s profile, influence and reputation locally and nationally.
· Identify opportunities to increase collaboration and strategic influence.
Governance and Compliance
· Work in partnership with the Board of Trustees to ensure effective governance and strategic oversight.
· Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and safeguarding responsibilities.
· Maintain effective systems of risk management, financial governance and organisational assurance.
· Provide timely, accurate and insightful reporting to support Board decision-making.
Pay: £65,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
