Location: Alltami, Flintshire, Wales
Hours: 4 or 5 days per week ( minimum 36 hours)
Salary: £28,000 – £36,000 depending on experience and qualifications

About Our Setting
We are a nurturing, community-focused nursery in Wales with a strong emphasis on outdoor education and meaningful play. Our children spend significant time outdoors throughout the year, exploring, investigating and developing confidence through real experiences in nature.

Due to growth and continued development, we are now seeking a committed and experienced Deputy Manager to join our leadership team.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position working under the guidance of the Nursery Manager. You will also be supported by the Assistant Manager and room leaders, forming a strong and well-balanced leadership structure.
The Deputy Manager plays a key role in maintaining quality, consistency and a positive team culture across the setting.
You will:
- Support the Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Lead by example in delivering high-quality, child-centred early years practice
- Support, mentor and guide practitioners to maintain excellent standards
- Ensure compliance with CIW regulations and Welsh Early Years frameworks
- Oversee planning, observations and assessment processes
- Contribute to quality improvement and reflective practice
- Support safeguarding, health and safety and operational procedures
- Build strong, professional relationships with families
- Step into the Manager role when required
- Support with nursery transportation of children to and from school and occasional on off site visits
This role balances operational responsibility with meaningful time spent working directly with children and staff.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking someone who is:
- Qualified to Level 3 in Childcare (minimum) – Level 5 desirable
- Experienced in a senior or leadership role within an early years setting
- Knowledgeable about Welsh early years practice and CIW requirements
- Confident, organised and calm under pressure
- Passionate about outdoor learning and play-based education
- A positive role model who can inspire and support a team
- Committed to building a strong, respectful workplace culture
- Welsh language skills are welcomed
- Full driving licence
