As a Funeral Operative, you will play a vital role in supporting funeral arrangements, caring for the deceased, and helping to ensure that every funeral service is delivered to the highest possible standard.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Funeral Operative, you'll support our funeral teams across a range of duties, including:
Caring for the Deceased
- Collecting deceased individuals from private residences, hospitals, care homes, and other locations.
- Transporting the deceased with dignity and respect using our private ambulances and company vehicles.
- Ensuring all documentation is accurately completed and personal belongings are correctly recorded and transported.
- Assisting with the basic preparation and care of the deceased.
Supporting Funeral Services
- Preparing vehicles and equipment ahead of funeral services.
- Assisting Funeral Directors before, during, and after funerals.
- Bearing coffins with professionalism and dignity.
- Transporting deceased individuals for viewings and funeral services.
- Preparing and placing coffin nameplates, floral tributes, and Orders of Service.
- Ensuring coffins are correctly secured for transportation.
Vehicle and Fleet Management
- Maintaining the presentation of our fleet, including hearses and private ambulances, ensuring they are immaculate at all times.
- Carrying out routine vehicle checks and reporting any faults promptly.
- Ensuring vehicles are stocked with all necessary equipment and supplies.
- Driving company vehicles safely, professionally, and considerately.
On-Call Responsibilities
- Participating in an on-call rota, providing support when required outside normal working hours.

- Hold a full UK driving licence (essential).

Job Details
· Hours per week: A minimum of 5 hours per week is guaranteed
· Hourly Rate: £13.53 per hour
· Location: Forrester Park, Edinburgh
· Additional payments for on-call
