This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Pharmacy team as a Teaching Technical Officer.
The main purpose of the job is to provide technical support within the School of Pharmacy wet teaching laboratories to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of practical teaching. The role is accountable for maintaining laboratory readiness, managing resources and inventory to meet teaching needs, and supporting the successful delivery of assigned modules in coordination with the other members of the Teaching Technical Team and the Divisional Teaching Laboratories . A secondary purpose of this role is to provide technical support (mainly during term 3 and outside of term time) for equipment facilities within the School in coordination with the Technical Managers in the Research Departments of Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical & Biological Chemistry.
Hours of work will vary between 08:00 – 16:00 and 10:00 – 18:00 during term time depending on the laboratory courses running at the time. Due to the nature of the work, there will be restrictions when annual leave may be taken. Please note this is a 100% on-site role.
The post-holder will work within the Technical Services team supporting teaching within UCL School of Pharmacy Teaching Laboratories, and will be line managed by the Divisional Teaching Laboratory Manager.

You will be an enthusiastic, hands-on team-player with a minimum of Level 3 qualification in a science subject. You will have experience of working in a wet lab and ideally a chemistry lab. You are able to work without supervision and adhere to safety protocols. You will have great communication and interpersonal skills to be able to support the delivery of teaching to students. Good attention to detail and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel) are essential.
