Assistant Bar Manager

Beckenham Sports Club is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Bar Manager to support the day-to-day operation of our busy clubhouse and bar.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional looking to take the next step in their career within a thriving multi-sports club. Working alongside the Bar Manager, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to members, guests, visiting teams and event attendees.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Bar Manager in the day-to-day running of the clubhouse and bar.
- Lead shifts and supervise bar staff to ensure excellent customer service.
- Assist with stock control, ordering and cellar management.
- Support recruitment, training and development of bar staff.
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, food hygiene and club procedures.
- Assist in the delivery of club events, private functions and match-day hospitality.
- Undertake cash handling, reconciliation and end-of-day procedures.
- Act as Duty Manager in the absence of the Bar Manager.
- Help maintain a welcoming, professional and member-focused environment.
About You
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience in a bar, hospitality or licensed premises environment.
- Possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Be able to motivate and support a team.
- Demonstrate a proactive and hands-on approach to work.
- Be organised, reliable and capable of working under pressure.
- Have a good understanding of stock control and cash handling procedures.
- Be flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
Hours and Benefits
- Full-time position (40 hours per week)
