Jobs you will be doing
● Leading daily routines within the preschool.
● Planning and engaging children in experiences suitable for the age range 2-4 years (until eligible for primary school entry).
● Ensuring the highest standard of care is provided to both the children and their families.
● Monitoring developmental progress and maintaining accurate records.
● Providing support for your colleagues.
● Delivering care that fulfils the requirements of the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare.
● Fulfilling the role of designated safeguarding lead for the setting.
What we are looking for:
● Level 3 in childcare/early years.
● The ability to communicate in the Welsh language (basic).
● At least two years previous experience within a preschool setting.
● Strong leadership skills.
● Excellent communication skills to be able to interact with parents and children effectively.
● Ability to engage and connect with children of various ages.
● Knowledge of the National Minimum Standards for Regulated Childcare and the ability to implement these.
● A good knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
Because of the nature of this work, the position is required to have an Enhanced DBS check. The position will be subject to check to the list of those barred from working with children.
Job type: Full time, Term time only (39 weeks)
Expected hours:
Core hours are 8:30 – 15:00 (30 hours per week). There is the possibility to extend this to cover breakfast and after school clubs (8.5 additional hours per week)
Pay: £14.58 to £15.31 per hour (dependent on experience)
