Smart Raspberry | West London
Smart Raspberry is a children’s cookery company delivering after-school clubs, holiday camps and birthday parties across West London.
We’re looking for a highly organised, proactive and dependable Junior Coordinator to join us for a six-month placement. This is a hands-on, entry-level role offering practical experience in operations, coordination and business administration, with increasing responsibility as you develop.
No previous operations experience is required – we’re looking for someone with the right attitude, strong organisation and communication skills, and a genuine willingness to learn.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll help coordinate the day-to-day running of our after-school clubs, holiday camps and birthday parties. Your responsibilities will include:
- Scheduling teachers and maintaining staff rotas.
- Confirming teacher availability and arranging cover when plans change.
- Sending teachers registers, recipes, schedules and venue information.
- Coordinating ingredients, equipment, packaging and deliveries.
- Responding to routine enquiries from parents, schools, teachers and venues.
- Supporting the organisation and day-to-day running of holiday camps.
- Coordinating birthday party bookings, teachers, payments and final arrangements.
- Maintaining calendars, operational trackers, online listings and digital files.
- Sending routine invoices and monitoring deposits and outstanding payments.
- Keeping teacher, school and venue information accurate and up to date.
- Following checklists and processes to ensure important tasks are completed on time.
- Helping us use and improve systems and automations that make our operations more efficient.
This is a varied role. Some days will focus on planning and administration, while others may involve dealing with last-minute changes, coordinating several people at once and finding practical solutions to keep everything running smoothly.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised – you enjoy keeping things in order and can manage several tasks at once.
- Reliable – if you say you’ll do something, you follow it through.
- Proactive – you notice what needs doing and are comfortable taking initiative.
- Detail-oriented – you understand the importance of getting dates, schedules, addresses, registers and orders right.
- A clear communicator – you’re friendly, professional and confident communicating with different people.
- A practical problem solver – when plans change, you focus on finding a solution.
- Comfortable with technology – you can confidently use email, WhatsApp, Google Drive, calendars and online systems.
- Eager to learn – you’re open to feedback and keen to develop quickly.
Experience
Previous experience is helpful but not essential.
Experience in any of the following may be useful:
- Administration or office coordination.
- Customer service.
- Education, schools or children’s activities.
- Events, holiday camps or hospitality.
- Staff scheduling or rota management.
- Bookings, invoicing or payment administration.
We are very open to applicants at the beginning of their careers. Attitude, potential and work ethic matter more to us than having the perfect CV.
What You’ll Learn
During the placement, you’ll gain practical experience in:
- Day-to-day business operations.
- Staff scheduling and coordination.
- Professional communication with schools, parents, venues and teachers.
- Children’s activity and holiday camp operations.
- Booking and payment administration.
- Operational problem solving and prioritisation.
- Using systems, checklists and automation to help a growing business run efficiently.
Progression
This placement is designed to give the right person meaningful experience and the opportunity to grow in responsibility.
A high-performing candidate may be considered for a permanent Operations Coordinator / position at the end of the six months or progress onto Operations Manager, depending on performance and business needs.
The Person We’re Looking For
You don’t need to arrive knowing everything.
We’re looking for someone with the attitude, potential and work ethic to become excellent at the role – someone who takes pride in being organised and dependable, enjoys helping things run smoothly and wants to learn how a growing business operates behind the scenes.
Because Smart Raspberry works with children, families, teachers and schools, professionalism, good judgement and reliability are extremely important.
